Car history: |
2) Older body off restoration completed in 2002. Rebuilt with slight modifications. Rims are 8.5 Rally Sport instead of the 7.0 that was original to 1968 vets. The original 427 was incomplete missing the 2x3 carb and intake. One of the previous owners changed the hood to an L-88 with 4 barrel carb and air induction system. I liked the look of the L88 hood, left it on when I rebuilt the car. The L88 hood is an original short GM hood not a replica. Matching block and transmission. The machine work during the rebuild wiped out the block stamping. The motor is modified and dyno'd to 506HP. The engine was built by Rex Hutchinson in Sacramento California. Actual CI is 439. Compression ratio 10.78 to 1. Balanced and blue printed. Comp cam CBXE284 H-110 with 570 lift intake and .578 lift exhaust, duration 284/240-296/246. Forged pistons and Eagle I-beam rods. Coated Headman Headers, Edelbrock aluminum heads, Performer Air gap intake, 850 Demon carb. The Base white is the original color, single stage paint. The blue strip was added later to give the car a Motion Performance look. Custom Auto Sound AM/FM radio. Build sheet low options are: 390HP to 400HP, Tinted glass, close ratio 4 speed, posi trac and am/fm radio. Body tag info Trim 414, paint 972 Polar White. Metallic blue stripes a later addition. Car cover goes with the car. Original radio is stored and goes with the car. One original head is stored (with oversize valves) goes with the car. Front end mask for rock protection goes with the car. T-Top storage case goes with the car. BiN $31,500 (Unsold) on May 26 and June 25, 2016. 1) Beautifully Restored 68 Corvette Coupe with custom white paint and a blue interior. Its original 427 CI V-8 engine has been completely rebuilt and modified to crank out some serious horsepower and the 4 speed manual transmission makes this beast a true pleasure to drive. Modern perks like 4 wheel disk brakes and a premium sound system make the experience even that much better. Exceptional Power & Great Curb Appeal. The current owner of this 1968 Chevrolet Corvette completed a full frame-off restoration in 2001 to take this classic muscle car to the next level. The custom paint/trim work is phenomenal and it gets even better once you turn over that ignition key. With extensive engine work by Rex Hutchinson Racing (forged pistons, aluminum heads, machined & blueprinted), this gorgeous 68 Corvette is ready to be unleashed. The Ultimate Driving Machine. While there are definitely faster or more refined classics within our showroom floor, few of them can compare to the overall driving experience of this 1968 Chevrolet Corvette. It is the perfect balance of power, performance and personality. 2,030 miles. 12/12/2013. |
